Denmark aims to be climate neutral by 2045. If we, as a society, want to achieve that goal, we must replace fossil energy sources with renewable ones. But we also need to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere.

The technologies in CCUS – carbon capture, utilization, and storage – are crucial if Denmark is to achieve its climate neutrality goal. We are well on our way. The first large-scale capture plant is expected to be operational by 2026. And the potential is significant. 5.4 million tons of Denmark’s CO₂ emissions can be captured by 2040.

But what will CO₂ be used for? In the short term, it will be stored in the Danish subsoil. But in the future, it will also be used. For green aviation fuel. For green marine fuel. For green plastic. Access to CO₂ will become a critical component in the future. Therefore, it is crucial that we plan the transport of CO₂ from a long-term perspective. This requires an infrastructure that we can continuously expand to meet future needs.

Over the past 40 years, Evida has created a safe and efficient gas network. We know what we are dealing with and have a strong foundation of existing competencies that can be carried forward in the expansion of a future CO₂ infrastructure.
